Independent home support & companionship for people in Harrogate
Calm, experienced support for older people- delivered with discretion. If you’re beginning to worry about a loved one living at home, you are not alone. Many families contact us when Mum or Dad is still managing day to day, but confidence , connection or routine are starting to change. You may live locally or at a distance. You may want reassurance without overstepping, and support that feels respectful rather than intrusive.
Duchy Care provides independent companionship and home support in Harrogate, helping older people continue to live well at home while giving families peace of mind. We are not here to take over. Our role is to support independence, confidence and wellbeing, while offering thoughtful oversight and continuity.
Most families begin with just a few hours a week.
Experienced companions you can trust
Support is provided by a carefully selected team of mature, experienced local ladies – many with backgrounds in nursing, the NHS or professional care roles.
All companions hold an enhanced DBS check and are fully referenced and experienced; covered by full insurance; chosen for their professionalism, insight and genuine love for their work.
Our companions are observant, respectful and relationship-led. They understand the importance of preserving dignity and independence, whilst quietly noticing the small changes that matter. Wherever possible, support is delivered by a consistent group of companions, helping trust and familiarity develop naturally, which is essential for people living with memory challenges.
DEDICATED TO YOUR INDEPENDENCE
Companionship & home support in Harrogate
Dementia and memory-related support
We support clients living with early stage dementia and memory related conditions through familiar, consistent companionship. A calm approach, trusted relationships and continuity help reduce anxiety and support confidence, while families remain closely informed.
OUR SUPPORT STRUCTURE:
A gentle introduction: One or two regular visits each week, often for a few hours at a time. Support is provided by a familiar group of companions so visits feel settled and reassuring.
Building routine and reassurance: Support gradually becomes part of the week, with the same faces and ongoing communication with families.
Adapting as needs change: Support can increase over time if required, always relationship-led and flexible.
CQC registration and continuity: Duchy care is currently going through the CQC registration process. This ensures that, as needs change, we can continue supporting clients without disruption or loss of continuity. Families value knowing support does not need to change just as trust and relationships are established.
